A szobrot 1929-ben avatták fel a mai Deák téren.
A főváros után a magyar városok közül elsőként Miskolc adott helyet Deák-szobornak.

Ez volt a város harmadik szobra,
s Miskolc ilyen sorrendet állított:
Kossuth Lajos,
Szemere Bertalan,
Deák Ferenc.

The sculpture was inaugurated in 1929 on the space.
After the capital from among the Hungarian cities Miskolc hosted a scribe sculpture firstly.
This was the city's third sculpture,
and Miskolc claimed an order like this:
Kossuth Lajos, Szemere Bertalan, Deák Ferenc.
